Honey Rose & K

Meet Melanie from All Who Wander February 24, 2019 13:38

With Spring Break on the mind, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce you to Melanie Kiffner from All Who Wander Travel Consulting. Our team is all guilty of using Melanie to plan our travel needs! Working parents have so little time to pay attention to all the details. Enter Melanie and her team...

Occupation: Former high school biology teacher turned stay-at-home mom turned business owner/travel consultant (Co-owner of All Who Wander Custom Travel Consulting)

My Family: Husband Kent (married in 2009); son Carson (8); daughter Quinn (6)

Favorite Quote: "Shoot for the Moon.  Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."  When I was a teacher I had a poster with these words hanging in my classroom & both of my children have this saying on wall decor in their rooms.  It's so important for everyone to remember that success is still possible even when you may not feel like it is.

Beach or Mountains: No brainer.  BEACH all the way!  I love the water, sun and ocean smell.

Favorite Meal: Pizza!  I haven't met a pizza I don't love....NY style, Chicago style, flatbread, gourmet, chain pizza, etc!

Pet Peeve: When people know a lane is going to end or is closed up ahead and yet they still zoom past and hope to cut over further up!  Please wait your turn like the rest of us.

My Escape: Books.  I've always loved to read and in my adult years have found it a great way to escape from reality for a bit.  Nothing shuts my brain off like an engaging plot, interesting characters or descriptive passages that transport me to another place or time.

Favorite Hidden Spot in Town: The bar at the original Hyde Park in Upper Arlington.  My husband and I have had some of our best date nights here.  We sit at the bar, order a delicious dinner, have a glass of wine and enjoy conversation with each other and those around us. There's just something about it.

Advice on Success: What is truly the definition of success?  I'm not sure there really is one.  Instead, I think it's important to feel confident & fulfilled (at least most of the time) in what you're doing and being a humble, honest & kind person while doing so.
In My Bag:
-Bag: Kate Spade Cross-body; my go-to versatile bag which I have in two the two-tone color shown here and in a coral color
-Kindle: As mentioned above, I love to read.  My Kindle is always with me in case I have a spare minute or two while waiting on a kid to finish a practice/dance class.
-Checkbook: Yes, I'm that girl who still balances a checkbook in 2019!
-Keys: Gotta get from point A to point B.
-Blue Lagoon Rejuvenating Lip Balm: My sister-in-law brought this back from Iceland for me and it's my absolute favorite.  Moisturizing with a little gloss to it!
-Hand sanitizer, wipes & Aquaphor: Well, because kids!
-Business card holder & business cards: My business partner gave me this trendy card holder that I keep on me because you'd be amazed at the places where my work in the travel industry comes up in conversation...the baseball field, airplanes, the kids' school to name a few.
And finally, my favorite Honey Rose & K piece...the Star Gazer earrings!  These are so light and fun to wear.
