Meet Jamie Friesner and see What’s in Her Bag?! April 26, 2019 06:44

We recently caught up with mama, teacher, and  safer beauty advocate, Jamie Friesner to learn what's in her bag. As a wife of an entrepreneur she truly understands the importance of buying local and we are so thankful to have her as a supportive customer.
Occupation: Reader Recovery teacher and an educator with Beautycounter

Meet Interior Designer Laura Hawk March 6, 2019 14:38

We love Laura Hawk's style and share her love for dessert! Read on to learn more about this incredible designer and learn more about LCH Design HERE!
Occupation: Interior Designer

My Family: Lucky to have found the love of my life at 22 we will have been married for 13 years in July and have 4 kiddos! Lennon (8)  Hendrix (6) Vedder (3) and sweet baby Axl our surprise #4 who’s (20 months)

Favorite Quote: My favorite quote or poem is lengthy but it’s Mother Teresa’s do it anyway poem... if you haven’t read this, I encourage you to. I have had it taped on my vanity for awhile and just put it on my daughters mirror as a daily reminder.

Beach or Mountains?: Beach I love the sun and the energy you are infused with from that environment!

Favorite Meal: Caprese or buratta salad with a blue moon to drink followed by an iced sugar cookie or a piece of cake with butter cream frosting.

My Escape: A tea house whether its local or over seas I love a good pot of tea!

Favorite Local Spot: Cambridge tea house

Advice on Success:
I will never feel I’ve achieved success so that’s a tough question.  I am always looking to gain more knowledge and skill to be better for those I serve.  I just love what I do and I hope to always be a light in someone’s day. The only business principle I have is to be sure and tell People whether it’s a client, my family or the barista who makes my Starbucks drink to start my day off on the right foot,  how wonderful they are and the individual ways that they are special because people need to hear how amazing they are!
What's In Laura's Bag?!

I’m a minimalist when it comes to my purse and I carry a Bandolier everyday bc it’s easy to access the things I need and prevents my phone from breaking on job sites etc. I keep my Listerine cool strips, my MAC impassioned amplified lipstick, a pair of my favorite Honey Rose & K  earrings to put on before I walk into a meeting, my target card and a love ornament my daughter made me.

What's In Dr. Prasad's Bag?! February 19, 2019 17:04

We caught up with one of our favorite customers, Dr. Mona Prasad. We think Mona is spectacular and read on to see why...

Occupation:
Physician, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Addiction Medicine, OhioHealth, Columbus, Ohio

My Family: Husband and best life partner since 2004: Matt Nawrocki, Daughters: Nora (11) and Neve (9), Black Lab: Magic (4)

Favorite Quote: "What the mind does not know, the eyes will not see." I heard this first from my Dad when complaining about studying for exams in medical school, but I bet he adapted it from somewhere.

Beach or Mountains: Depends on the season. Definitely up for a winter ski trip and all the memories that can be made at apres ski for all ages. But, vacation usually means beach to me...Longboat Key is our go-to destination.

Favorite Meal:  Any lunch that can be enjoyed with a glass of wine....I rarely ever drink during the day, so when I am relaxed without obligation at the noon hour, wow, it just feels like #winning.

Pet Peeve: Not finishing what you started.

My Escape:  Theater...I mean, we just moved planes, trains and automobiles to see Hamilton, and I  would do it 10 times over to  embrace that kind of artistry.

Favorite Hidden Spot in Town: No Soliciting Bar. I became a member to have a place to host my posse...But that Pho Place on Lane Ave in the old Taco Bell is a dream as well.

Advice on Success: Wow! I think I still feel like,"Who am I to comment on success?", but maybe that is the point.  Showing up, doing what you say you are going to do, leading with a servant heart...I would attribute my success to that, and maybe it is just that simple.
In my bag: First of all, this Fendi was my most guilty pleasure purchase ever, but the strap I found on consignment (TheRealReal) was a huge win! I always carry this old/cute picture of the girls, my iPhone complete with Michigan Popsocket (Go Blue!!), Aveda Nourish-Mint in spiced plum, the keys to my VW convertible bug so I can drive with the top down whenever it approaches 50 degrees, I have been a disciple of the Full Focus Planner since Christmas and totally recommend to help keep life/work in order as well as to have ongoing journaling, and I have been reading Brene Brown works for the past few months as well. Good stuff!!  My FAV Honey Rose & K pieces are tough to nail down...so I added the ones I reach for the most! Star Gazers (duh, best earrings ever) and my handmade piece highlighting an old charm I had with my girls names on them, spruced up on rosary chain and some "extra" to make it almost my look on the daily.

Thank you Mona! We will see you at lunch for some vino soon.

What's In Her Bag with Blogger, Meagan Cafarelli June 22, 2018 08:00

We are a big fan of Meagan's style: seamless and chic. Her blog, Pieces of Momlife, shows how she manages to keep her fashion on point while keeping up with 2 young boys.

She's a fan of our delicate pieces, as seen here. Lucky for us, she shared what's inside her Vici bag.

Meagan keeps a minimal amount in her bag during the summer. Included are: Beautycounter Rosewater Mist and sunstick, Neutrogena undereye concealer, cardholder from her FabFitFun box, Ray-bans, and her stacked Honey Rose & K stackable beaded bracelets and shell earrings.

Thanks for letting us peek inside, Meagan!

What's In Her Bag with Blogger and Personal Stylist, Candace Read June 4, 2018 09:00

We are thrilled to feature one of our favorite fashion bloggers, Candace Read.  She's always on point, has great taste (refined, practical and pulls off a finished look), gorgeous (inside and out), and fun.  Her style is relatable, completely in touch with living life, wearing comfortable clothes and looking good while doing it.

I met Candace over a smoothie bowl at Zest at Easton Town Center. We chatted about her role at Wardrobe Therapy. She helps clients with personal shopping, wardrobe consulting, and closet restyling services. She brings her regular working girl style to her clients, and to readers of her blog. When not working or blogging, she's exploring Columbus with her husband.

Her bag reflects her life as a personal stylist, always on the go. Her items are functional and fun.

Candace typically carries a backpack or a satchel bag with a crossbody strap. Her  soft leather backpack shown is from GiGi New York.

She's a huge fan of Neutrogena's lip color stick. She also carries Pacifica underarm wipes.

Her personalized field notes were a gift from A&F Challenge, a party hosted by Abercrombie and Fitch, benefitting a different non-profit each year.

A fabric tape measurer, Tide to-go stick, iPhone and changer, cash (for meters), pins and business cards are essential to her work as a personal stylist.

She wears her Honey Rose & K vintage Italian compass pendant. Its symbolic to her since she just did a rebranding of her blog from "Live Love & Read" to "Candace Read". She's changing her direction to reflect a "more mature, refined and a million times more confident in who I am {perks of getting older}".

Candace wearing a pair of HR&K statement earrings and tassel bracelets

We are excited that Candace is taking her Honey Rose & K with her on this exciting journey of rebranding and a new direction.

Karlye caught sniffing out her mini donuts at NYC"s Doughnuttery.

Enjoy your sweet day!

Paula Koontz-Gilmour is one of Central Ohio's premier realtors, holding awards from both Coldwell Banker King Thompson, Columbus Board of Realtors, and Ohio Association of Realtors.

Paula is from Upper Arlington and lives here with her husband and 2 children. She's not only an accomplished realtor, but she also is involved with many non-profit organizations in Central Ohio. You'll likely see Paula working, exercising (barre class, tennis or running), volunteering or shuttling her kids to and from activities.

In Paula's Louis Vuitton tote include tools to run her successful real estate business.

Her iPhone and a spare battery charger because (really?), how can you run a business without a smart phone?

Paula's business cards with her wearing hot pink, one of her signature colors. Her  Honey Rose & K hot pink drop earrings are a favorite, matching many dresses in her closet.

A few realtors tools she always has on hand: blue ink pens (for home closings) and a laser room measurer

She also has the essential makeup bag. She's always on the go, so no time to reapply at home!

Paula's favorite Honey Rose & K necklace (often found more on her neck than in her bag!).

The Mott fruit snacks are a favorite go-to for between meetings snack.

Pool Bling: How to Accessorize Pool Side May 22, 2018 09:10

All winter long, I'm thinking of summer. While I don't enjoy being in the sun, I love laying under an umbrella, while the sun is shining.

Cover ups, new slide sandals, a new suit (or 3), and I'm shopping mid-February for pool days in June. Why? They're outfits! Why not accessorize them!!!

For the easy, sporty, suit and coverup, our simple pieces will work well. We love our vintage studs with a cotton coverup.

For a romantic, scalloped suit, something fun and whimsy is a nice contrast! We love our tassel earrings to add a pop of color against black.

For the newest trend in swim coverups, the kimono, we love pairing it with a simple drop earring, like our mod earring.

However you rock your swim wear, never forget to accessorize it!

The Head Scarf: Your Solution to A Boring Ponytail May 18, 2018 09:00

There are ways to wear this easy look. Whether heading to the pool, errands, or an evening out, you can make this look as casual or dressy as you want.

We have a few great options in stock, and so affordable. We are seeing head scarves styled everywhere, seen here at Anthropologie.

Ditch your baseball cap for an on trend and easy summer look with the head scarf! Ours are created using vintage scarfs for a one-of-a-kind look.

Let us know how you rock your head scarf!

How To Accessorize Your Preppy Clothes with Honey Rose & K May 11, 2018 08:30

The ladies who wear HRK want a modern and unique accessory. Since most of the line is one of a kind, the pieces tend to feel the vintage and boho vibe. We've heard women say "I'm not boho." "I can't pull that off." Guess what? You can!

Not everyone dresses alike, but our accessories cross all styles. We are going to show you how to pull our pieces into a preppy look.

Lilly Pulitzer. A classic that was adored by Jackie O. Enough said. There's never a question when someone wears Lilly. It's iconic. While most is bold, we love using a  simple drop earring to pull a color out of the print. The pearl burst earrings will make a statement without taking away from the bold print.

Vineyard Vines. Who doesn't want to move to Martha's Vineyard and sail after walking into their store? They've paved a way for a new preppy look, especially with menswear.

We love our white tassels with seersucker, making for a simple, classic look.

When wearing gingham, go for an unexpected statement, using a contract neutral to pull together. These peachy earrings are a great choice, especially with a popped collar

Your look doesn't belong in a box: preppy, boho, romantic, so why should accessories? Our gems can transition to many different looks.

We all have that one go to dress in our closet. It takes you from work to date night to girls night to kids choir concert to grocery shopping. It is tried and true.

One of our favorites is The Bella Bean's Zoe dress (it has pockets!). Its flowy and effortless. Costing around $30, its an essential and affordable staple in our closet. Available in black, green, red, navy and pink, you may want to pick up a few colors. The Bella Bean is a great online store that not only dresses your kiddos to pure perfection, but the ladies selection is great, too.

We styled the black Zoe dress with a few favorites from our latest Honey Rose and K collection. Marisa, co-owner of The Bella Bean, is wearing HRK's tear drop stud earrings and mixed metal triangle long necklace for a great business casual look. Paired with a ballet flats and she's ready for the day.

What's In Her Bag: Fit for Barre's Dawn Tuttle April 23, 2018 09:17

Leisure Wear? Athletic Wear? We all own those ahhmaaaaaaazzzzing leggings. Do you work out in them? Maybe. Do you love them? Absolutely. SNL recently aired a hilarious parody commercial about women and their love for leggings, even if it we only wear them to binge watch Netflix.
Dawn Tuttle, founded Fit For Barre, an online boutique with clothing and accessories designed for barre workouts that can transition into street wear. Dawn designs pieces that are tailored for barre classes-a mix of pilates, yoga, and dance. She gives her customers what they want; comfort and style.  Dawn's edgy and modern style is reflected in the pieces; leggings and bras with rainbows, leggings with leather stripes down the side, black and white tanks. Her sense of humor shows with products like her "Barre Now, Bubbles Later" gripper socks.
Dawn Tuttle's Studio Tote bag
Dawn carries Fit For Barre's Studio Tote, a cool gray with a pop of color on the straps. Inside reflect her life as a busy mom, business owner, and barre lover. She never leaves home without her gripper socks, water bottle, and a lint roller. She nibbles on multiple Heath bars throughout the day and a Kind bar for good measure.
Dawn favors edgy and delicate accessories to go with her modern look. She pairs her favorite tanks with Honey Rose & K delicate chokers. Her stack bracelets take her from class to day. She picks jewelry that is easy to wear and like Fit For Barre, can be worn throughout busy days.
