Meet Jayme from Scout & Molly's Boutique! April 2, 2019 10:27

We love shopping local and supporting women-owned businesses! It's a huge plus when the women are welcoming and kind like Jayme Jerkovac and Beth Gittins!
We caught up with Jayme to find out some of her favorite local places and to see what's in her beautiful Chanel bag (drool).

Occupation: Owner / Scout & Molly's Boutique in Easton Town Center

My Family: Brand new Dog Mom to Kaya. I began fostering her the week before Christmas and I was a complete foster fail. Now she's my world!
Favorite Quote: "Empowered women, empower women".
Beach or Mountains: Beach! I love ANYWHERE warm.
Favorite Meal: Literally anything with a side of mashed potatoes. I have ordered tacos with a side of mashed potatoes before.
Pet Peeve: Bad drivers.
My Escape: Walks around German Village with Stauf's coffee. I love their coconut latte and looking at everyone's beautiful gardens.
Favorite Hidden Spot in Town: Bottoms Up Coffee for the raincloud coffee with cotton candy, Flowers & Bread for grilled cheese & tomato soup (check their instagram for availability) and Indochine for the best soup of your life!
Advice on Success: Work hard, show up early, find inspiration in everything and READ. I always recommend finding one article a day that can teach you something new about your field!

What's in my bag:
My phone - I'm constantly working from my phone. I try and take mental breaks away from it & will put it on airplane mode when I can but Social Media is a HUGE part of my job and a great way to connect with my customers.
Candy - Right now I'm obsessed with the vegan chocolates from Raaka. They have pink sea salt, bourbon and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Sunglasses - I like to give my eyelashes breaks in-between mascara days. (it may be an old wives tale but I'm convinced it helps them stay healthy). Either way - sunglasses are like camouflage for no-makeup days.
Perfume - For spring I love Kai's oil based, roll-on perfume. It's super light and smells like fresh gardenias.
Tide to Go - Because having a new puppy can be a little messy and muddy paw prints aren't fashionable, yet.
Earrings - I LOVE my new Honey Rose & K Cowrie Shell earrings. They're my favorite new piece for spring!

What's In Her Bag with Blogger, Meagan Cafarelli June 22, 2018 08:00

We are a big fan of Meagan's style: seamless and chic. Her blog, Pieces of Momlife, shows how she manages to keep her fashion on point while keeping up with 2 young boys.

She's a fan of our delicate pieces, as seen here. Lucky for us, she shared what's inside her Vici bag.

Meagan keeps a minimal amount in her bag during the summer. Included are: Beautycounter Rosewater Mist and sunstick, Neutrogena undereye concealer, cardholder from her FabFitFun box, Ray-bans, and her stacked Honey Rose & K stackable beaded bracelets and shell earrings.

Thanks for letting us peek inside, Meagan!

Celebrating National Donut Day! June 1, 2018 07:30

What better way to start the weekend than eating a donut? We are celebrating National Donut Day with Sprinkles & Sparkles because donuts go with jewelry too!

In Columbus, Duck Donuts, Dunkin' Donuts, Krispy Kreme are all offering free donuts. Papa John's will give you an order of donut holes with a large pizza purchase. Tim Horton's will be giving away donuts for a year if you win a Gold Timbit!

Remember to stop and smell the donuts! Stack your arm with Honey Rose & K bracelets when you grab a Tim Hortons.

Karlye caught sniffing out her mini donuts at NYC"s Doughnuttery.

Enjoy your sweet day!

Egyptians: Best Jewelry Creators Of All Time May 28, 2018 22:02

I just got back from an amazing weekend in NYC with my husband and oldest daughter. We took in the sights, ate everything in sight, and tracked over 20K/day on the Apple activity tracker. It was an action packed three days of fun.

On a rainy morning, we decided to tour a few exhibits at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met is one of the most fantastic places to visit in NYC, or arguably, the country. Not only is the architecture of the building amazing, but it houses some of the best works of art. We only spend a few hours, only enough to scratch the surface

Hadley and I at The Met.

In my opinion, the Egyptian exhibit was by far the most interesting collection. It was a comprehensive collection of tombs, many with hieroglyphics still visible. Many statues of stone were still preserved, just as they would have appeared 4,000 years ago. Without question, Egyptians were ahead of their time in math, architecture and preservation.

The Temple of Dendur

A large part of the collection was jewelry discovered in tombs. As you can see, the detail is outstanding and truly works of art. I found that much of the jewelry could be worn today, and still look fashionable.

If you'd like to read more about the The Met's Egyptian Art exhibit, please visit www.metmuseum.org/about-the-met/curatorial-departments/egyptian-art. Make sure to schedule time to visit on your next NYC trip!

Accessorizing for National Wine Day! May 25, 2018 00:00

We LOVE wine. Why not celebrate our love? We are still wondering why its limited to National Wine DAY. Why not a month? Or all year?

Like fashion, wine is expressive. It's balancing. Science. Blending. Color. It's love. It's vintage.

Wine, like fashion, is a billion plus dollar market. Why? Because it makes us feel good.

In honor of National Wine Day, we would love to show you our favorite red, rose and white pieces online right now.

Meredith, owner of HRK, has a winery in her family. Ladies, road trip to Vino di Piccin soon!!

Enjoy celebrating National Wine Day!

What's In Her Bag: Bray's Way Blogger, Reagan Mamer May 16, 2018 09:45

If you follow Columbus bloggers, you are more than likely following Reagan Mamer's blog, Bray's Way. We love her lifestyle blog, full of home decor inspirations (and they're affordable!), wedding planning (the lace dress she chose!), and her favorite eateries. She's one of the nicest people I've met, and truly embodies the mid-western woman: down to earth and charming.

Reagan's home is as cozy as her personality. Just wrapping up a home renovation, the kitchen is amazing and her floral bathroom is swoon-worthy. Her bichon poodle mix, Leo, captured our hearts. Look at this sweet face!!!

Reagan's bag is full of great products, both practical and fun!

Her bag is a bamboo clutch from Amazon. It's light and so fun, perfect for summer!

She carries her favorite Kate Spade wallet (it's actually the best wallet, I am on my 3rd one. You can slide your cards in without having to open it!).

Her mirror sunglasses are from Vernacular

Her favorite hand lotion is a gift from her friend. She gifted Reagan a bride box before her wedding, full of bridal essentials. She also keeps a travel Benefit mascara with her, for those important lash touchups.

She never leaves home without her travel toothbrush and toothpaste! After each cup of coffee, she's freshening up.

She loves a delicate necklace with bold earrings, like these from Honey Rose and K. She wears black, white and gray on rotation, so these black earrings go with much of her closet.

She always keeps a treat for Leo, because he's always in tow (and how can you resist not spoiling a puppy!)

Thank you Reagan for allowing us to peek into your cute bamboo clutch! We love your style, both home and fashion!

How To Accessorize Your Preppy Clothes with Honey Rose & K May 11, 2018 08:30

The ladies who wear HRK want a modern and unique accessory. Since most of the line is one of a kind, the pieces tend to feel the vintage and boho vibe. We've heard women say "I'm not boho." "I can't pull that off." Guess what? You can!

Not everyone dresses alike, but our accessories cross all styles. We are going to show you how to pull our pieces into a preppy look.

Lilly Pulitzer. A classic that was adored by Jackie O. Enough said. There's never a question when someone wears Lilly. It's iconic. While most is bold, we love using a  simple drop earring to pull a color out of the print. The pearl burst earrings will make a statement without taking away from the bold print.

Vineyard Vines. Who doesn't want to move to Martha's Vineyard and sail after walking into their store? They've paved a way for a new preppy look, especially with menswear.

We love our white tassels with seersucker, making for a simple, classic look.

When wearing gingham, go for an unexpected statement, using a contract neutral to pull together. These peachy earrings are a great choice, especially with a popped collar

Your look doesn't belong in a box: preppy, boho, romantic, so why should accessories? Our gems can transition to many different looks.

Layering Necklaces The Right Way: Meagan's Cafarelli's Way May 9, 2018 09:00

We love Meagan Cafarelli's blog, Pieces of Mom's Life. She's cool and has amazing style. Really easy, effortless style. She's a fan of our necklaces, and how she wears them, you'll see why. Easy to wear and all available in the shop. Here she rocks our lotus necklace,

When choosing how to layer necklaces, delicate chains and small pendants are important so it doesn't become too overpowering. Most of our necklaces can be custom to any length, giving you options to create a great look like Meagan's.

Thanks for sharing with us, Meagan!

Your Go-To Dress and Ways to Accessorize It. April 27, 2018 09:00

We all have that one go to dress in our closet. It takes you from work to date night to girls night to kids choir concert to grocery shopping. It is tried and true.

One of our favorites is The Bella Bean's Zoe dress (it has pockets!). Its flowy and effortless. Costing around $30, its an essential and affordable staple in our closet. Available in black, green, red, navy and pink, you may want to pick up a few colors. The Bella Bean is a great online store that not only dresses your kiddos to pure perfection, but the ladies selection is great, too.

We styled the black Zoe dress with a few favorites from our latest Honey Rose and K collection. Marisa, co-owner of The Bella Bean, is wearing HRK's tear drop stud earrings and mixed metal triangle long necklace for a great business casual look. Paired with a ballet flats and she's ready for the day.

For a date night look, Marisa is wearing pink silk tassels and a delicate choker for a fun, flirty look.

For girls night out, Marisa chose our fun flying feathers earrings with a long zodiac pendant.

The Zoe dress can not only go from work, but to a concert, too. Justin Timberlake is now touring!! Marisa is wearing our multi chain deer tip necklace with a simple, yet edgy claw earrings

Rocking HRK's multi tassel earrings and stacked beaded bracelets, Marisa has chosen this look for family brunch.

Thanks Marisa and The Bella Bean, for letting us tag along with your versatile Zoe dress. Honey Rose & K's modern style can accessorize you for all occasions.

What's In Her Bag: Fit for Barre's Dawn Tuttle April 23, 2018 09:17

Leisure Wear? Athletic Wear? We all own those ahhmaaaaaaazzzzing leggings. Do you work out in them? Maybe. Do you love them? Absolutely. SNL recently aired a hilarious parody commercial about women and their love for leggings, even if it we only wear them to binge watch Netflix.
Dawn Tuttle, founded Fit For Barre, an online boutique with clothing and accessories designed for barre workouts that can transition into street wear. Dawn designs pieces that are tailored for barre classes-a mix of pilates, yoga, and dance. She gives her customers what they want; comfort and style.  Dawn's edgy and modern style is reflected in the pieces; leggings and bras with rainbows, leggings with leather stripes down the side, black and white tanks. Her sense of humor shows with products like her "Barre Now, Bubbles Later" gripper socks.
Dawn Tuttle's Studio Tote bag
Dawn carries Fit For Barre's Studio Tote, a cool gray with a pop of color on the straps. Inside reflect her life as a busy mom, business owner, and barre lover. She never leaves home without her gripper socks, water bottle, and a lint roller. She nibbles on multiple Heath bars throughout the day and a Kind bar for good measure.
Dawn favors edgy and delicate accessories to go with her modern look. She pairs her favorite tanks with Honey Rose & K delicate chokers. Her stack bracelets take her from class to day. She picks jewelry that is easy to wear and like Fit For Barre, can be worn throughout busy days.
